First Bath!

Will got a bath from the nurse and RJ a few hours after he was born...and LOVED having his head held under the running warm water. The spongy, soapy part...not as much.

We gave him his first bath at home yesterday...he was so cold at first, poor guy! He sure looked cute in his little monkey hooded towel though!

  1. I don't think I have told you congratulations yet, will sure is a cutie. When my katie was in the NICU they taught me about the "swaddle" bath. Just swaddle your little one in one of those thin hooded towels while in the tub and it will keep him toasty during the bath ( as long as you keep pouring warm water over it). To wash, just take one limb out at a time. Katie went from hating baths to loving them.

  2. He is so darling. And I think his little face in the monkey towel is just perfect. What a doll.

First baths are tricky, but I was going to say the same thing as Hidi, one limb at a time while they are wrapped in a towel and they are good to go.

Look at you all pro mommy. You are doing such a great job. I don't quite know how you are finding time to post and sleep and hold him every second that you can, but I am really impressed.

  3. Katie! He is beautiful! What do you think of mommyhood so far? I don't know if you want any advice on the bathing part, but I was just going to share something Mark's mom told us... it was SO HELPFUL! We kept a warm washrag on him while we bathed him and re-dipped it during the bath to keep him warm. It worked so well and really helped him not get so cold.
