New Pose

Will is super fast at crawling these days...
he's doing this new stop-to-rest thing...
he just puts his head right down and
rests for a minute like this last picture.
It's really sweet.

Trying to Take a Picture...

Let me tell you how hard it is to take a picture of this kid these days....he just wants the camera! He tries to grab it and gets soooooo close to it...I need an "unzoom" feature on the camera....

Could have been a cute pic...but he wanted the camera strap...

The mad face when he doesn't get the camera...

Closer...

And grabs it!

Overheard...

Overheard today at Walgreens:

Two small kids purchase something and go over to their grandpa, who is waiting by the door.

Grandpa: "Did you get your change?"

Kid: "Yep! We even still have six cents left!"

Grandpa: "Eh, just throw it away. Pennies aren't worth anything anymore."

Does anyone else find this sad? Way to teach those kids about saving money there Grandpa!

It reminded me of a story that a dear friend told me once. She said an older family member of hers was a child during the Depression. They had to save EVERY cent for food. Once, she had finally saved enough money for a gallon of milk, after being out for some time. She walked all the way to the store. As she put her money up on the counter, the clerk discovered she was one cent short. ONE CENT! She had to put the milk back and walk all the way back home. No one could afford to lend even a cent. Sure, times have changed (ha...but really, have they? hello bad economy...) ...but every penny matters!

Aw....

I was just looking through some pics and found these little gems.
When I get Will out of the bath, we dance around and sing...he laughs (and realizes his mom is crazy). One day RJ took some pics, and I just thought they were sweet. It's so weird to see how much he's changed in just a few months...his hair looks so short in these pics!

Dinner Update!

Whew! You guys, those husbands of ours can cook! Good thing Liz and I are so good at Taboo!
They made a stellar New York steak dinner, crab cakes, grilled asparagus, salad, and roasted red potatoes! Then, they finished all that off with bananas foster. Fabulous!

Josh doesn't regularly hold butcher knives to his wife's head...
but it makes for a good picture prop...!

This was only the appetizer...once those steaks were done no one was stopping to take a picture!

Yum...Bananas foster=RJ's specialty!

Cousins!

You should have seen Sara and me trying to get a decent picture of these three...whew. Alas, not any super great ones...but here are some cute ones. Excuse the abundance of pictures...this is one of those documenting-it-for-myself-and-family-not-really-interesting-to-anyone-else type of posts!

I like how Will and Avery are just staring at Carter while he freaks out!

Finally some smiles!

Carter looks so cute in this one...
Will looks stunned...

Avery looks so sweet!
Carter was putting his arm around Avery...Mouths open pose!

Love these three!

Let me just tell you a little story...

Our friends Liz and Josh come over often and we do a little game night.
There may or may not even be a trophy involved.
There sure is a lot of competition.

We usually play couple vs. couple....

But...last weekend the boys got the bright idea (bwahahahah) to do
boys vs. girls
on Taboo.
If they won, we had to go to Golden Corral for dinner.
If we won, they'd have to make us a gourmet dinner....

Let's just say they're downstairs slaving away
while Liz and I are watching tv and playing on our laptops...

As Liz said,
"Winner, winner...steak and shrimp dinner!"

More 4th of July...

We went to Sara's parents' house for a 4th of July BBQ...Will sported a mohawk for the occasion!

Will couldn't decide how he felt about the pool...

He liked hanging out in the hammock with Grandpa instead...

Why My Mom is the Coolest...

Got this in the mail the other day...

Check out all those stamps...
what could she have spent nearly $5 to send me?

That's right...the latest US Weekly and People...
she knows my love of the Bachelor drama!
Love her (my mom, not Vienna!)!

He Wears it Now!

So maybe you remember THIS....When I made the "Team Cox" onesie to give to RJ. He calls us "Team Cox" a lot, so I figured baby deserved the onesie to be member #3 of the team! It's so weird to me still that he actually can wear it now...

4th of July Weekend

I tried to get Carter to make a funny face for the camera...I demonstrated by puffing my cheeks up and pulling my ears out....he tried to do the same! He sure looks a lot cuter than I did!

Will had some fun BBQing with Grandpa. He loves to "help" Grandpa with anything.

Firework Fun!

After watching the USU fireworks from the deck, we lit some! Will watched, but really was more interested in the smoke from the fireworks than in the actual firework! Maybe next year he'll be more excited...Carter sure was!

Alysia, Monica, and Kami

Some of the sparkler got Carter...He wasn't too happy about it! He loved doing the snaps...I always did when I was little too...it's just enough of a thrill without the risk of getting burned!

Cousin Pool Time!

We had an awesome 4th of July weekend! RJ's family came in town...lots of BBQs, pool fun, and fireworks. (Not any illegal ones...even though Kami lives in Wyoming... ;) )

This is just the beginning of the blog posts of the weekend....Day 1!

We set up a kiddie pool and sprinkler in the backyard. The water was a tad cold, but it was fun. Sara and I got some reading done, Will did some Carter-watching, Carter did some playing, and Avery did some sleeping. Good summer afternoon!

Will was lathered all up in sunscreen!

(P.S. Hard to see, but aren't his swimming trunks cute?! They're from his Uncle Paul.)

Fun in the sprinkler!

Sweet Avery....always content!

Bowling!

Will got a sweet bowling set from my parents for Christmas.
We broke it out for some bowling...he's totally ready to join a league.

Aren't those pins the cutest thing you've ever seen?!
Rivals the Fun Park's Disco Bowling for sure...
