Plaid Boy

It was a family-filled weekend! Sweet Baby Avery got blessed on Sunday, and we all went down to Sara's grandparents' beautiful home. More pics to come....because that's the problem with taking obsessively large amount of photos of your own child, it becomes way too much work to weed through them all for a blog post when I'm this sleepy! So.....more than just Will pics coming!
P.S. But really, isn't his outfit adorable?!

Remember the time Carmelo Anthony sauntered
down the court with that snobby grin on his face in game 1?

Then remember the time in game 3
when he let his foot get in the way of his dribbling?
Who's smiling now Captain Turnover?

In other news, whenever I hear his name, I crave....

Are Foreheads Shaped?!

So I was working one on one with a student as he took a math test.

"Teacher, you know you have like kind of a rectangle shaped forehead."

"OK...let's finish number 12 on the test now..."

First of all, no wonder the math test scores aren't stellar if he's thinking about his teacher's forehead....And second of all...do I really have a rectangular shaped forehead?!

When I told RJ he said, "Well was it a geometry test? At least he knows his shapes..."

And no, it wasn't a geometry test.

First Popsicle

The pediatrician ok'd Will to eat Gerber 2nd foods, which includes juice. So...being the excellent parents that we are, we went straight for the sugar-laden-non-juice popsicles! Let's just all agree to not show this to Will's doc....

So I was eating a blue raspberry popsicle and Will just kept eyeing it....so I figured he could have a taste. The following pictures ensued...

Although he looks traumatized....he really did like it! He kept leaning in for more!
Reminds me of the time my older brother and I gave lemon juice to my little brother in a sippy cup, claiming it was milk. Let's just say it happened more than once....was funny was more than once....and he fell for it way more than once. Good times....

Drink up!

So....there I was, at 7-11 in a rush to grab my morning Diet Coke. First of all, they were out...blah. So to Diet Pepsi I went (boo!).

Walked up to the register with my GIANT Diet Coke....

Cashier: "Wow, gearing up for a rough day, huh?"

Ha. Sad part is...no, not a rough day...just a usual day! Imagine what a rough day's Diet Coke consumption is...

Then, as I crossed the street to school with said Coke....

Crossing guard: "Wow, brought refreshments today, eh?"

Yes, sir. Sure did...and although my mug looks like it could in fact quench the thirst of every teacher in the building, it will just be mine to enjoy!

"Teacher! I'm going to see the fabulous Michael Jordan tomorrow!"

"What?"

"I'm going to see the fabulous Michael Jordan tomorrow!"

"What?"

"I'm going to see the fabulous Michael Jordan tomorrow!"

"Is that a movie?" I'm thinking, "There is no way Michael Jordan is in town..."

"No! I'm going to see the fabulous Michael Jordan tomorrow!"

"I'm sorry...I'm confused!"

"Teacher! That's my spelling sentence this week, 'I'm going to see the fabulous Michael Jordan this week!'"

Oh, of course!

My New Nickname

"Teacher! I thought of a new nickname for you!"

Yikes...options are endless....

"Oh really? What is it?"

"Foxy Coxy!!!"

I think it has a nice ring to it!
I may even put it on my nameplate
outside my classroom door...
"K.Cox" was getting kinda dull...

Earthquake!

So tonight I was out running some errands...including Will's 6 month appt! Can't believe he's that old...goes so fast! He's 15 lbs. 6 oz. and 15 1/2 inches. Was totally happy until those 4 shots came...sad! But cheered up soon after again.

Anyway...then came the stop at Wal-Mart. But, I needed to text RJ for a min, and make a quick list for Wal-Mart. So I parked the car in my secret side spot by the garden stuff....no cars around, not even any people. Will was asleep and I sat quietly typing away for a min. The car started to kinda sway....not quite shake, just like when you are waiting in a turning lane and a BIG truck goes speeding past and your car kinda sways. I turned the radio off and looked around...no cars had pulled up....no people. My next thought was that maybe someone I knew was being funny and pushing on my car? Couldn't figure it out.

Got Will out and continued into the Wal-Mart madness. Later, we went to RJ's fam's house where Morgan informed us that there had been a 4.9 earthquake nearby. Pretty sure that was what I felt....so weird!

Creepy!

Did anyone watch Saturday Night Live tonight...with Tina Fey and Justin Bieber?

The skit with Justin Bieber in Tina Fey's class, and she fantasizes about him singing to her?! I was so creeped out. Maybe it just hits a chord with me being a teacher and all....but it seems like there have been so many cases of inappropriate teacher/student relations in the news the last few years. A skit about the situation with such a lustful tone is SO offensive and inappropriate.

Anyone else?

For Mom

I'm not sure exactly what was going on in this sequence of pictures....it appears that Will was telling my mom something shocking or really funny based on each of their expressions....

For the Palmer Fam...

Will says hi....and that he needs a friend to play with....

Pretty cute picture, right?

Well let me just show you how tricky it is to get a decent picture of this kid these days....

He wants to grab everything, and take it directly to his mouth!

Easter....day two!

On Sunday we went to Salt Lake to my parents' house. My mom always has the house decorated so cute and festive. The Easter Bunny had definitely been there...the table was covered with filled baskets and birthday presents. We were celebrating my birthday and both of my brothers' girlfriends' too!

We call Will "Mr. Frog" a lot....my mom found him this cute frog basket!
Will LOVED Alex holding him!
Will checking out his goodies...
Can't decide what to get out first...
Little does he know that the sucker is actually better without the wrapper...

My brother and Will...

It was a great first Easter for Will!
