Last year, I started doing a monthly goal instead of resolution for the year. It was nice for me to focus on one thing at a time, for a fairly short amount of time. I kinda got lazy after a few months. And some months I did it, but was bad at blogging about it.
My sister-in-law was here over the weekend, and we talked about doing the same thing this year. So...here goes! Last year I tended to choose physical goals. We talked this year about trying to mix it up between physical, emotional, financial, etc.
So, for January, my goal is to drink my Kefir/Diatomaceous Earth concoction every day.
I have some friends who swear by both of these items. Kefir is a probiotic yogurt drink that is SO good for you. My friend, Lacy, describes it best here. Diatomaceous Earth is finely milled fossil shells of prehistoric single celled freshwater algae-like plants referred to as Diatoms...I know, sounds weird. More info can be found here. The idea is that we used to get all the minerals we needed from food. Now that humans eat so much processed junk, our bodies don't get everything we need. Again, I have some friends who swear by the effects of Diatomaceous Earth. So, I've been stirring a tablespoon into my Kefir every night. I'm still pretty new to both, and want to drink this concoction daily through January to give it a fair shot.

I like this! I posted about a monthly goal to, thanks for the idea! I am doing NO CANDY for January, ha ha! Good luck with yours, you can motivate me to actually do it every month!
ReplyDeleteWhile I haven't jumped on the shell bandwagon (my MIL's tries not taken hold yet!) you know how I love my Kefir. Can't wait to hear about the results! February book club, here we come...
