Quote

I feel like I need a new blog post....but not sure what to blog about exactly. The fact that I eat everything in sight? My father-in-law even commented on that today. So, I think embarrassment quota is full. Plus, the brownies next to me are calling my name.

So...
I buy a "Life's Little Instruction Book" calendar (the daily rip-off) kind every year. But this year I thought I'd try "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" because I like the books. The calendar's ok...I prefer the other.

Anyway...there are some occasional gems:

The happiest people on earth all have their fair share of low moods, problems, disappointments, and heartache.

And I thought, Amen. Because can't we all think of someone we thought just had it all...the perfect life, no problems, good looking, plenty of money, a good attitude, perfect family, stylish clothes, I mean, everything. Then...as we get to know them better we find out that their life indeed has its share of flaws-as all lives do- and they carry on despite that.

RJ's random thoughts

Yes I decided to crash my wife's blog to vent a little about how stupid movies are these days. I just saw a commercial where some people had to sneak into a room that is impenetrable. But Wait!!! There is an air vent directly above the room that is able to fit someone comfortably. If I wanted to get rich i would start a company that made air vents that would not fit humans. I am sure most companies that have secret material with poor building designs would line up around the block.
Phew....that felt good to get off my chest. Maybe I'm just mad because I can't fit in a vent anymore. :( In other news I can't wait for Boozer the Loozer to be gone!
Well I'm done..... blah

REALLY?!?!?

Michael over Jake?!? EW. And Wes for that matter. Jillian, quit drinking. It's seriously impacting your decision making skills.

And P.S. I totally think Ed will make a comeback appearance. Hello foreshadowing with his picture on the table.

And how funny was the caution tape/hot tub clip?!
And how gross was Wes introducing her to his band. Blah.
OOoooooohhhh....Jake is coming back! (YAY!)

Summer...finally!

Today was what truly felt like the first day of summer! Up until now since school got out, it's been rainy everyday.

So today was spent at the pool....magazine, diet coke, and ipod in hand! Bliss.

Then, hot dogs and corn on the cob for dinner...bliss continued!

Here's to summer!

Fathers Day

Although Baby Cox isn't quite here yet, RJ deserved his first Fathers Day (he is oh so good to Rocky, Miss Kitty, and Dizzy already). Dizzy and I woke him up with pancakes and licks on the face (from Dizzy, not me!).
Then...Baby gave him a present that will be much enjoyed next Jazz season...still will be a tad big for baby, but he'll definitely still wear it.
A fabulous Sex and the City quote:

“When you're young, your whole life is about the pursuit of fun. Then, you grow up and learn to be cautious. You could break a bone or a heart. You look before you leap and sometimes you don't leap at all because there's not always someone there to catch you. And in life, there's no safety net. When did it stop being fun and start being scary?”

Floozy?

Last summer I was working at Sabor, standing in the server station when I saw a guy come in and stand in the doorway.

I said to the server next to me, "Hum, I think that's one of my kid's dads..."

Super stunned look from server.

Me: "Oh! I'm a teacher..."

She was new, she really thought I might not a) recognize my child's father....b) "One of my kids..." I'm sure she thought, how many do you have floozy?!

Anyone seen that commercial where the nice looking man on the escalator is approached by a nice woman who says, "I think you're one of my kid's dads..." And he details a wild night in Cancun during Spring Break...But what she meant was kid = student. Hilarious.

And true.
